Wildfire Disaster
Awareness Day
Saturday, May 13, 2023
Wrightwood  Firesafe Council is returning the Wildfire Disaster Awareness Day (WDAD) at Mountain Hardware store’s parking lot. Booths at the WDAD will demonstrate techniques and regulations for making your home fire safe through preparedness.
WFSC sale of fire nozzles to convert an ordinary garden hose into a high-pressure water nozzle for use by residents.
SB County and State Agencies will be present to answer your questions.
CERT will exhibit its Firefighter Rehab Unit, which benefits all emergency responders during a wildfire or other disaster.
For kids, Jr. Fire Fighters Challenge will provide an opportunity to put out a fire in a simulated home, and ‘Sparky the Dog’ will be available for photos.

Arts & Wine Festival

The Festival exemplifies the Arts Center’s commitment to making Wrightwood a destination for dynamic engagement with the arts in Southern California. This one-day, juried event will feature a wide variety of visual, culinary, literary, musical, textile, and performing arts, along with wine-tasting presented by regional wineries and capped off with a poetry slam in the evening.

Get Ready for the annual weed abatement!
Bring your Greern Waste to:
SBC Yard, Hwy 2, Wrightwood next to the Post Office, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Large green waste such as shrubbery, brush, tree limbs, tree branches, and tree trimming, pine cones, clipping, logs 10” in diameter, grass, and other green plants.
Volunteers are needed
Unacceptable items, Jushua Trees, Palm frons, tree stumps, bags, boxes, building materials, cardboard, concrete, dirt, ground cover, Household items, rocks, scrap lumber, sod, trash or Hazardous Waste
Truck & trail loads must be covered to prevent traffic  tickets. Pine Needles do not need to be bagged. Green waste should be placed on a tarp for easy unloading.
Organized by Wrightwood Firesafe Council, Wrightwood Community Services District & CR&R Enviromental Services, CERT, SBCo.

Thursday night, June 29, at 6:30 pm,
A pre-weekend celebration for the whole community to enjoy.
As the Music gets going at 6:30 pm, the Village converges in the Parking lot between Park Dr and Pine for a fun evening with friends, family, and community members  Picnics are welcome, and don’t forget your blanket or a chair to relax and enjoy the show.
As in past years, various food trucks and vendors will also be on-site. The tradition of Music in the Pines continues this summer with multiple performances by various artists. Donations are appreciated. Child enterrtainment by a licensed & screened individual will be free.
Other performance dates include July 13, July 27, and August  10.
